How a solar lamp post works
The small solar panel set on top of the lanterns collects energy from the sun. That energy is then stored in a rechargeable battery pack. On this type of solar lights generally NiMH or lithium batteries are used and they can be easily replaced. 4 to 5 hours of suns exposure suffice to fully charge the batteries. On a full charge the solar lamp post can run all night long.
To avoid the daily burden of manually switching the unit on and off, a built-in photocell automates this task and makes the solar post light operates on its own from dusk to dawn. |
